Australian Hackers Play Doom On An ATM

A pair of Australian hackers have manipulated an ATM to run the science fiction-horror FPS Doom, and now they’ve uploaded footage of their frag fest.

As seen below, to support the game the hackers modify some of the bank machine’s built-in controls which is made easier by the fact that this particular ATM runs on Windows XP.

The hack also required custom software, and a circuit board that can reconfigure buttons meant for cash withdrawals to allow your space marine to slay some errant demons.

According to the minds behind the hack, they’ve already configured the side buttons to work for weapon selection, and hope to make the number pad and receipt printer usable.

The hackers haven’t actually revealed where they obtained the cash machine but they have linked to another video showing their previous project which involved hacking a truck-mounted LED billboard, also to play Doom.
