Samsung’s Head of Mobile Design Resigns Due to Galaxy S5’s Ugliness

Samsung’s Head of Mobile Design has resigned after the plentiful amount of criticism the Samsung Galaxy S5’s appearance received.

Chang Dong-hoon has now left his position at Samsung after the Galaxy S5’s design was widely derided by critics and consumers alike. The device’s plastic back and gaudy optional colors, including a particularly vomit-inducing golden casing, proved to be considerably unpopular. However, despite the device’s appearance Samsung still managed to sell 86 million smartphones in Q4 2013, further increasing its lead over Apple in the smartphone market.

Analysts expect the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be released in April 2015, with Chang Dong-hoon being replaced by Lee Min-hyouk, Samsung’s vice president of mobile design, who is now working on the design of the upcoming device.
