A Potentially Controversial New Wendy’s Frosty Flavor is Allegedly Hitting Stores Soon

Wendy’s has been getting adventurous with its Frosty flavors lately, and a brand new one is coming soon. It feels like we barely got time to enjoy the Spongebob Squarepants-themed Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, but that treat is on its way out at the end of the month. Replacing it is a surprising flavor, which might get a mixed reaction from Frosty fans who prefer a simpler palate.

A new Salted Caramel Frosty on it way for fall

According to foody insider Snackolator, Wendy’s will introduce a Salted Caramel Frosty in November. The new flavor will replace the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, which was released as part of the restaurant’s Spongebob Squarepants 25th anniversary collaboration.

The new Frosty might be one of Wendy’s more controversial desserts. While salted caramel has been getting more love recently, it’s far from a universally enjoyed flavor. Additionally, since the Salted Caramel Frosty likely isn’t a syrup or puree mix-in, the vanilla Frosty will probably once again be bowing out to make room for the new flavor after only two months on the menu.

Wendy’s has yet to announce the Salted Caramel Frosty officially. Still, we expect the news to drop within the next week or so.

With the restaurant introducing so many new flavors in recent years, it’s hard to believe that for almost 40 years, only the original chocolate Frosty was available. Wendy’s finally added a vanilla Frosty in 2006, but it wasn’t until 2022 that we started seeing seasonal flavors. In just two years, the restaurant has released:

  • Summer 2022 and 2023: Strawberry
  • Winter 2022: Peppermint
  • Fall 2023: Pumpkin Spice
  • Spring 2024: Orange Dreamsicle
  • Summer 2024: Triple Berry
  • Summer 2024: Pineapple Under the Sea

We’re excited to see what bold flavors Wendy’s has planned beyond the Salted Caramel Frosty. Of course, while vanilla comes and goes, you can always enjoy the original chocolate Frosty all year long.
