It seems like every few months we hear about some type of food shortage that leaves us scrambling to stock up on the likes of ketchup, cheddar cheese, ground beef, and most recently cream cheese. If you’ve paid attention to the media, you probably heard that more people eating breakfast and cyber hackers shutting down a Wisconsin-based creamery for a few days have made it more difficult to get cream cheese. It might sound like the plot to some cheesy movie, but it really happened. Because of this lack of this tangy, popular dairy product, Kraft wants to pay you if you decide not to eat cream cheese during the holidays.

Kraft Heinz, owner of the iconic Philadelphia brand, plans to give shoppers $20 for every dessert they buy or bake that doesn’t have any cream cheese in the recipe in its “Spread the Feeling” promotion. If you’re okay with barreling through the next few weeks without any cheesecake, you have from now until January 4 to claim a spot. In total, the brand is only giving away 18,000 online reservations.

If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, you’ll receive a link where you can send your receipt for a non-cream cheese-based dessert purchased before December 24. You’ll then get $20 from Kraft within four weeks. If that’s not reason enough to not need to take extra Lactaid and feel generally gassy and uncomfortable this holiday season, we don’t know what it is.
