Hey stinky! How’s it going? Look, we’re not here to chastise you for the fact that you sometimes smell. That’s natural. What’s not natural is that you use deodorant and still sometimes stink! However, we can help you put an end to that little problem. Mostly, by explaining to you the logistics of how deodorant works and why the way you’re using it prevents it from maximum effectiveness. We saw a life hack on TikTok by @dermguru, a board-certified dermatologist, where we gave three tips, but the one that caught our eye was about how to wear deodorant. So we looked it up and it turns out, we’ve all been using it wrong this whole time.

What You’ll Need:
- Deodorant
- Antiperspirant
- Armpits (that stink)
For starters, do you know the difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant? You will now. An antiperspirant stops sweat. A deodorant neutralizes odors. To use these bad boys correctly you need to shower at night, then put on antiperspirant. This will put an end to gross night sweats that get you all stinky. In the morning, after you wake up, you wipe on the deodorant of your choice. Then head out for the day, knowing you will not be the stinky guy.

According to @dermguru, you can also just use your deodorant at night before bed and this will do the same thing. But, if you really, seriously want to make sure you don’t smell, stick with the antiperspirant at night and deodorant in the morning routine. You’ll thank us later.
