Snapchat Redesign Gets Slammed With 83% Bad Reviews

What was supposed to be their big push to conquer Instagram and revamp its growth, turned out to be a headache for Snapchat, as a big redesign of the social network app received terrible reviews.

Putting Stories in between private messages and erasing the auto-advancing of Stories are some of the main concerns of Snapchat users and they’ve had their voices heard. Few countries, including the U.K., Australia, and Canada where the redesign is widely available, had 83% negative reviews of the update on the App Store. Negative meaning one, or two stars.

Other concerns are that the new layout is too confusing and that people’s Stories aren’t going to have the same reach.

The goal of the redesign was to enable more advertisements opportunities by mixing in messages with Stories, as interrupting Stories with ads were regarded as too brash.

People have immediately started asking Snapchat support how they can switch back to the old layout, but it’s not possible to revert to a previous version of the app.

It’s important to keep in mind that YouTube’s and Facebook’s redesigns always came under heavy criticism, but they’ve remained relevant. Tell us what you think of this sweeping Snapchat redesign?
