Some automakers used NYIAS 2017 just to announce a new model here and there. Buick decided to march out an entirely new sub-brand.
While debuting the all-new 2018 Buick Enclave, the automaker also announced the birth of their Avenir line — representing the top shelf in Buick luxury design. The Enclave Avenir trim will be the first vehicle out that designation.
The Avenir group will show off the “highest expression of Buick luxury.” The very tactile elements of that luxury branding include upgraded leather and chrome accents, active safety features and Buick’s first in-vehicle ionization.

As for the new, seven passenger, 2018 Buick Enclave (the general edition aside from the Avenir), the latest version of the mid-size luxury SUV will now include new active safety technology, improved connectivity and 17 radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors, fully equipped.
There’s a standard, hands-free, power-programmable lift gate, and overall tow capacity increases to 5,000 pounds. The Enclave packs a standard 3.6 liter V-6 engine, providing 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. That’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Prices were not yet released for the new 2018 Enclave and its uptown Avenir sister, but they’ll arrive long before the car arrives in showrooms. It’s set to debut before autumn, 2017.
