Spring is around the corner, and so is Spring Break. If it were up to Dark Seas, the recommended trip would be focused on time near and in the sea.
The label was founded by professional skateboarder Adrian Lopez in 2008, who was detrmined to bring a new feel to ordinary surfwear. The result was an ocean-minded brand for land-residing civilians who would rather spend their time on a surfboard. Marine and mermaid-themed graphic designs take center stage on tees and hoodies, and an overall aesthetic of vintage nostalgia is noticeable in nods to ‘Sailor Jerry‘ seen on the Stick & Poke Old Time Pocket Tee or Mesmerize Union Tee.

But the real bread and butter of this label is their boardshorts. Made in a minimal number of silhouettes, including the Blackwall, Lattitude, Sternway and Buntline, there’s no lack of creativity in the fabric’s patterns and colors, as seen in the understated mustard stripes of their Tobacco shorts or the dark navy stars and dots of their Blackwall style.
The boardshorts are made with 4-way stretch technology, with no side seams, welt pockets and understated branding on each. As the foundation of the Dark Seas brand, we’re betting you may find more than one to like.
