2017 Chicago Auto Show: TRD Intros Toyota Tundra Pickup, Sequoia SUV

The Toyota Racing Development line added a couple new members at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show with the addition of the TRD Tundra Pickup and the TRD Sequoia SUV. Both get their first taste of upgraded performance packages with styling to match all of that fresh aggression.

Both vehicles maintain their functionality with the Tundra TRD’s specs for towing and cargo hauling remaining in effect, and the Sequoia’s considerable carrying space and seven passenger seating secure. However, both add improved speed, handling and overall excitement.

The Tundra TRD Sport is available on 4×4 and 4×2 grades in CrewMax and Double Cab setups. It’s powered by the proven 381 horsepower, 5.7 liter i-Force V8 engine. The performance is enhanced with the addition of TRD Sport Tuned Bilstein Shocks and TRD front and rear anti-sway bars.

Safety will be enhanced on all Tundra models (TRD and otherwise) with the addition of Toyota Safety Sense with a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams  and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

The 2018 Sequoia TRD Sport will also be available in 4×4 and 4×2 models and uses the 5.7 liter i-Force V8 engine. Toyota enhances the big machine’s handling with TRD Sport Tuned Bilstein Shocks and TRD front and rear anti-sway bars.

Finally, for the 2018 model year, the popular Toyota RAV4 compact crossover will add a new Adventure grade. The new trim will be equipped for more intense off-road adventures away from the crossover’s native urban climbs.
