Travel: Escaping Winter at Seven Stars Resort and Spa, Turks and Caicos

The Caribbean Island chain of Turks and Caicos off the West Indies is a beautiful and manageable alternative to the busier regional destinations such as Jamaica or Bermuda. The accommodations and attractions at Seven Stars Resort and Spa takes advantage of every advantage the islands offer to create a perfect spot for resting and recharging.

Holding a prime spot on Provo Island amidst the archipelago, Seven Stars Resort and Spa offers every necessary Caribbean attraction and combine those amenities with devoted, but unobtrusive service. Visitors have every opportunity to recreate and recover or explore and exercise. It’s all on-hand.

It’s clear great care goes into maintaining the Seven Stars facilities. While it’s a sizable property made up four room classes – Junior Suites, One Bedroom, Two Bedroom and Three Bedroom suites — it’s not unmanageable large. The traveler can navigate the entire resort on foot within 30 minutes while exploring all of the inclusive attractions.

From the vast beach with private cabanas and The Deck Restaurant, to the tennis courts and lawn bowling spread, the guest can lounge under the sun or dig into some activity. When the waters cooperate, the ocean beckons with swimming, body surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling.

During this reporter’s visit, the trade winds were blowing strong and bringing rare rain and high chop to the Seven Stars side of the island. In such cases, the resort can shuttle guests to a beach on the opposite end of Provo where the waters are guaranteed smooth. The same water friendly activities await on either end of the Seven Stars Operation.

A little testy weather offered a chance to try out the spa in the Seven Stars monicker. A full service, holistic facility with multiple treatment rooms, its massage team is capable of everything from deep tissue and sports work to aromatherapy and other treatments.

While it’s fair to say no islands traveler heads to the Caribbean to set in a hotel room, great care went into designing and decorating the suites at Seven Stars. Room classes include three, two and one bedrooms suites with ocean views upon booking request. Suites come with complete kitchens, wifi, satellite TV and all the other comforts of home.

On the food and beverage front, Seven Stars offers formal dining in its newly re-created Seven Restaurant. The chef makes full use of the resort’s island surroundings by serving a healthy collection of fresh seafood. Seven also hosts the indoor bar that prides itself on its own Margarita recipe. For guests out on the beach, The Deck stands ready to provide tropical drinks and a complete menu of simple cuisine.

And, that word — “simple” — runs through Seven Stars Resort and Spa with a pleasant result. The destination does nothing out of the ordinary for a resort, but it does all of the essentials with an infectious smile.
