Spanish design firm PMMT has rendered a stunning home design in the heart of Barcelona on a historic plot that was originally inhabited by the Indian Consulate. Now the property is in the hands of a family who can rest easy in a home that affords them some touch of privacy.
Why? For starters, the curtains are actually ceramic tiles fixed to stainless steel wire. The tiles naturally conceal any views of the interior but are positioned in such a way that the family can see outside. The front façade of the home is equipped with chestnut boards that are strategically placed for optimal views while giving that much needed privacy to the family.

The home itself boasts three stories and is a modern marvel of architecture. Based at the foot of Tibidabo Mountain, the house resembles a block covered in green mesh tiles. The green camouflages much of the home with the surrounding foliage. But at the same time the architects went the way of “see-through ceramic curtains” to offer the inhabitants some stellar views of the “neighborhood,” so to speak. The ceramic curtains and green mesh tiles create the illusion of transparency.

With an inner courtyard and a vast expanse of walkways, terraces and high ceilings, the structure’s design skirts the line between building and home, offering an organic, yet futuristic take on modern living.
