When the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Stanford Cardinal take the field in South Bend tomorrow, college football lovers hungry for a top shelf tilt between two highly ranked teams will be watching another channel. Those diehard fans of either squad still tuning in to watch their favorite teams try to salvage something in their disappointing seasons will get a new perspective on a game day Saturday thanks to NextVR and ND.
Both the Fighting Irish and the Cardinal are enduring disappointing seasons that saw the tea tumble out of the Top 10. So, if the two programs can’t benefit from Saturday’s festivities, at least science can.

University of Notre Dame Football and NextVR will deliver several virtual reality features from the Oct. 15 Notre Dame vs. Stanford football game at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Multiple NextVR virtual reality cameras will surround the field to provide viewers with different angles and vantage points from the sidelines or into the action. NextVR will conclude each quarter with audio commentary from University of Notre Dame alumnus, Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Tim Brown – with NBC’s announcers.
NextVR will also be recording other football experiences from the game, including a walk to Notre Dame Stadium for online sharing later in the season.
