Sling TV has been awarded the coveted Best of CES 2015 award, as the service looks to completely change the way we watch TV.
Unveiled by Dish Network, the internet TV service not only looks to kill cable and satellite TV, it’s also staking a claim for Netflix’s spot in the streaming domain.

Offering a slew of channels from ESPN, ESPN2, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, TNT, CNN, TBS, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim for just $20 a month, plus additional channel packages for an extra $5, Sling TV will be a cheaper alternative than the current cable packages on offer, with the company’s CEO succinctly saying that “Millennials don’t choose paid TV.”
The most exciting aspect of Sling TV, though, is that it’s right around the corner. Unlike the majority of hardware and software unveiled at the show, Sling TV isn’t something that we’ll see in the distant future. In this instance, the best of CES 2015 actually will release in 2015, and we can’t wait.
The award, handed out by Engadget, was accepted by Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch, said he was “ecstatic” about winning the award.
