There’s a video of just about everything on the internet, but the one piece of footage that the web was sorely lacking was a clip of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates drinking poo water.

Don’t worry, though, Bill isn’t going a little loopy in his old age – the water is actually completely clean, taken straight from the Janicki Omniprocessor which filters human faeces and turns it into drinkable water.
While we perhaps wouldn’t be as excited as Mr. Gates to try it ourselves, the Omniprocessor is a project backed by the computing mastermind and philanthropist to help provide a source of clean water in the world’s poorest countries.
In a statement released regarding the Omniprocessor, Gates said: “I watched the piles of faeces go up the conveyor belt and drop into a large bin. They made their way through the machine, getting boiled and treated. A few minutes later I took a long taste of the end result: a glass of delicious drinking water.
“The water tasted as good as any I’ve had out of a bottle. And having studied the engineering behind it, I would happily drink it every day. It’s that safe.
We’ll probably just stick to our tap and bottled water, thanks, Bill.
