The non-profit organization is currently aiding the devastation-struck areas, including Florida and North and South Carolina.
Feeding America thanks Taylor Swift for generous donation
Feeding America released an official statement thanking Taylor Swift for her generous donation to aid their “Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts.” In an Instagram post, the organization announced that Swift donated $5 million and that they are “incredibly grateful” to the singer. The statement further read that the contributed amount will help affected “communities rebuild and recover” after the disastrous storms. The donation intends to provide “essential food, clean water, and supplies to people” in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The caption further noted that Taylor Swift’s donation is part of Feeding America’s “movement to end hunger and helping communities in need.” These relief efforts come “in the wake of #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton” as they make a “real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.” The non-profit organization’s CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, signed the note of appreciation and gratitude.
Besides Taylor Swift’s multimillion-dollar donation to Feeding America, other organizations have been actively aiding these efforts. The Morgan Wallen Foundation and Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee have been organizing on-field as well as virtual food drives seeking donations.
The horrific Hurricane Helene — a Category 4 storm —struck land in late September. The second one, Hurricane Milton, arrives about two weeks later. According to experts, the storm hit Florida on Wednesday, causing massive power outages, destruction, and numerous deaths, and has been recognized as a Category 5. Milton has also been causing wreckage in South Carolina and Georgia.
