Haley Joel Osment Reportedly Arrested for ‘Unruly Conduct’

Haley Joel Osment’s recent arrest has sparked renewed scrutiny after reports surfaced of his alleged public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance at a California ski resort. With law enforcement confirming key details and an investigation still underway, questions remain about the outcome of the April 8 incident.

Here’s what we know about the arrest and the latest developments in the case.

Haley Joel Osment allegedly arrested for public intoxication

Police arrested Haley Joel Osment on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in Mammoth Lakes, California.

According to PEOPLE, officers responded to a call reporting The Sixth Sense actor’s “unruly conduct” on the mountain and took him into custody around 2 p.m. at the Mill Base Lodge parking lot.

Sergeant Jason Heilman confirmed, “Public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance are the charges related to the arrest [on April 8].” Authorities booked and later released Osment, 37. The Mono County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Mammoth Lakes Police Department carried out the arrest and released a mugshot taken after the incident.

A police source told PEOPLE on April 16, “The controlled substance right now is presumed to be cocaine. We sent it for testing. We will have the results soon.” The Mono County District Attorney’s Office has not announced whether Osment will face charges, and the case remains under investigation.

This is not Kingdom Hearts’ star’s first legal incident. In 2018, police responded to a public argument involving Haley Joel Osment at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. The incident occurred on Super Bowl Sunday.

Authorities publicly disclosed his arrest on April 16, with multiple law enforcement sources confirming the details. As of now, officials have not issued an indictment or confirmed formal charges.

The Mammoth Lakes Police Department has not released additional information regarding the incident. The Mono County Sheriff’s Office continues to handle the ongoing investigation related to the substance found in Osment’s possession.
