Sakamoto Days revolves around Taro Sakamoto, the world’s greatest hitman, who encounters convenience store clerk Aoi and instantly falls in love with her. To keep his promise to Aoi, Sakamoto quits his shadowy and violent profession. The two get married and have a daughter, whom they name Hana. They also establish a family-run convenience store in Tokyo.
However, Sakamoto’s past life comes calling when clairvoyant hitman Shin Asakura, a former colleague comes looking for him. Shin discovers that Sakamoto’s physical appearance has drastically changed and erroneously thinks that he can be easily neutralized. Nevertheless, he is soon proven wrong and defeated by Sakamoto, who eventually hires him to work at the store. As the series progresses, other characters, many of whom with ties to the criminal world like Sakamoto and Shin, make appearances, expanding the cast of characters.
The original manga has been serialized since November 2020, with 20 volumes released so far. The anime’s 11th episode adapted parts of Volume 5, meaning Sakamoto Days Part 2 will likely pick up from there when it returns.
