Is Iggy Azalea drawing a line when it comes to Kanye West’s latest remarks? After West mentioned her son, Onyx, in a public rant about Playboi Carti, Azalea quickly responded, making it clear she wants her child left out of the drama. With West’s history of controversial statements and Azalea’s firm stance on protecting her son, the exchange has sparked discussions online.
Here’s a closer look at Iggy Azalea’s response, Kanye West’s comments, and why she is pushing back against the public scrutiny involving her child.
Igg Azalea slams Kanye West for his tweets
Iggy Azalea responded to Kanye West on X, asking him to leave her son, Onyx, out of his public disputes.
She wrote, “Ye, I understand the point you want to make. I say this with kindness & as a mother: Please, leave my child out of this.”
Azalea stressed that Onyx has no relationship with his father, Playboi Carti, and should not be dragged into public discussions about him. She noted that while Carti has other children who remain out of the spotlight, people repeatedly mention Onyx because of his fame.
She continued, “At the end of the day, Jordan has other children (less famous… Does it matter?) But it seems only my son gets harassed in perpetuity about or on behalf of a man he has no relationship with.”
Azalea expressed concern over how these public exchanges create a lasting digital record for her son. “Does he read it? No. He is a child. But it creates a digital legacy & an odd (shitty) situation for him to one day discover & endure in perpetuity from strangers online. Can I please have some peace? Can my son have some peace?” she added.
Her response came after Kanye West mentioned Onyx in a series of posts on X while criticizing Playboi Carti. West wrote, “HEY IGGG AZALEA I NEED TO GET ONYX VOCALS ON MY SONG THATS MY NEPHEW OH AND IMA RAP ABOUT ONE OF YOUR BUSINESSES THE F*CK?” His comments followed a dispute over Playboi Carti asking Kim Kardashian for North West to collaborate on music. West rejected the idea, saying, “I DECIDED NORTH WONT BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI.” He also criticized Carti for excluding him from the album while attempting to collaborate with his daughter.
