Recently, Roe sat down with program host Shawn Killinger on 50+ & Unfiltered to share more details on bidding farewell to the network. She explained, “I give a lot to my job—I live it, breathe it, and eat it. I spend a lot of time in my job because that’s the kind of worker I’ve always wanted to be and was raised to be. One day, I even told my boss, ‘I feel like I’ve given and given, but I don’t have as much left to give anymore.'”

Initially, she held back from departing as she wanted to ensure the team remains in a “perfect mode” to proceed further in her absence. “Like, everybody here on the team is doing a great job. They no longer really need me.”

Further, Roe shared an example of her close friend, who was active and healthy but passed away recently. This loss made her realize that she must spend quality time. “If I knew for sure I was going to live to be 90, maybe I would put in a couple more years. But I don’t know that. I want to be with my grandkids, my kids, and my husband without feeling like I have so much to do right now,” she further elaborated.

In addition, the former QVC host mentioned that the demands of her broadcasting career keep her busy. This often leads to her not getting enough family time. Although she loves her career, she believes it’s the right time to step away as this will help her prioritize her family and allow her to follow her other pursuits.
