Vince Gill comments on Taylor Swift and Super Bowl incident
Vince Gill called Taylor Swift “awesome” and said that he was “crazy about her.”
Speaking to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Gill recalled how he participated in the CMA Awards with her. He further mentioned how he, Alison Krauss, and several other people did an acoustic rendition of her song Red.
Gill then spoke of Swift’s noteworthy appearances at NFL games and how some fans have voiced discontent with them. “I just laugh when everybody gets so uptight when she goes to football games,” he said. Moreover, he also mentioned how someone had asked him to give his opinion on Swift’s NFL appearances. He recalled telling that person how the cameras did not often “cut away” to Swift, unlike Dallas Cowboys’ Jerry Jones.
The 67-year-old musician then opined that the scrutiny toward Swift’s popularity was “staggering.” He added that the whole situation was simply about “a girl that likes a guy and that they’re going to a ball game.”
The “Let Me Love You Tonight” singer also likened Swift’s charisma and presence to legends like Dolly Parton, Michael Jordan, and Michael Jackson, noting how the latter three “own a room.” He also compared himself to them, saying he was a “wallflower.”
As far as NFL appearances go, Swift was last seen at the 2025 Super Bowl, where Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Taylor Swift recently won the Tour of the Century award at the iHeartRadio Awards for her work on the highly successful and popular Eras Tour. Here, she also won other awards like Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, and Favorite Tour Style. Moreover, she and Travis Kelce also bagged the Favorite Surprise Guest award.
