Taylor Swift just dropped a bombshell hint at the iHeartRadio Awards. While accepting her Tour of the Century award via a video message, she wore a sleek snake necklace that has Swifties buzzing. The serpentine accessory strongly signals the long-awaited Reputation (Taylor’s Version) might finally be on its way.
How Taylor Swift dropped Easter egg for Reputation (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift teased fans with a major Easter egg at the iHeartRadio Awards 2025 acceptance speech. The Grammy-winning singer appeared to accept the Tour of the Century award for her record-breaking Eras Tour in a video. She sported her signature red lip and a snake chain.
The sleek serpentine necklace resembled an ouroboros—an ancient symbol of a snake biting its own tail. As per ancient mythology, the symbol means rebirth, a theme that was also present in Swift’s Reputation album.
Red lips and snakes have also been thematic elements of Reputation. The 2017 album emerged after a year of Swift’s hiatus from public life. It was also her answer to the “cancellation” that came as an aftermath of her very public feud with Kanye West.
Previously, Swift talked about the making of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in her Time Person of the Year interview in 2023. She said the revisitation of the album had become “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure.”
She explained, “I think a lot of people see it, and they’re just like, Sick snakes and strobe lights.” While speaking of the album Reputation, the “End Game” crooner also opened up about her hiatus and how she returned to the music scene in 2017. She told Time, “I thought that moment of backlash was going to define me negatively for the rest of my life.”
Reputation became a pivotal moment in Swift’s career as she held her iconic Reputation tour right after the album’s release. The tour reportedly saw 2.88 million attendees and grossed $345.7 million in revenues. It also won Tour of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards, American Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards (via Billboard).
