In a concerning turn of events, veteran musician Billy Joel has postponed a bunch of his upcoming concerts due to health issues. The “Piano Man” singer seems to be struggling with medical concerns. Earlier this year, he had to compromise with his concert due to an undisclosed medical procedure. As such, worried fans have flocked to the internet to learn about what actually happened to Billy Joel.

Billy Joel postpones concert due to health condition

In an official statement posted on his Instagram handle, Billy Joel confirmed that he has had to postpone up to four months of his upcoming concerts due to a recent surgery. “The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors,” the announcement read.

With admirers of the legendary artist constantly asking what happened to him, Billy Joel also issued a personal explanation in the aforementioned message. “While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.

The statement also noted that Joel should “make a full recovery” soon and will resume his tour on July 5, 2025, at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fans who have purchased tickets for the postponed concerts will be able to attend the shows on their rescheduled dates.

The update on what happened to Billy Joel comes less than a month after he accidentally fell on stage during his show in Connecticut. Additionally, Joel also had to cancel his January concert in Hollywood, Florida, pertaining to an undisclosed medical procedure. The show will now take place on November 1.
