Recently, there has been speculation surrounding John Reardon‘s exit, making fans wonder if he will be leaving the hit drama series Hudson & Rex. He plays the key character, Charlie Hudson, a detective of St. John’s Police Department in the police procedural drama series. Charlie pairs up with a German Shepherd, Rex, and trains the dog to leverage it for their investigation purposes. There are no confirmed reports about Reardon’s departure from Hudson & Rex. It remains a mere speculation, as of yet.
The speculation about his departure began when he had less screentime as a main lead in Hudson & Rex Season 7 as compared to its predecessors. The reason behind it was eventually learnt last December, during Christmas Eve, when Reardon took to Instagram to share his health concerns with fans. He revealed in the caption that he had been battling tonsil cancer and was in recovery.
Sharing two images, Reardon wrote in the caption, “Last night was my first night out after my recovery from tonsil cancer. Has been a long road between these two pictures and the difference is from the love and support I received from my people in my life.”
He extended his thanks to family members who stayed by his side during the tough time and provided him with love, care, and support. He also expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals who gave him the necessary treatment and ensured a speedy recovery. “Kindness is an under appreciated quality in people. We should never under value it. Celebrate it and distribute it as much as possible. It is free and life changing,” Reardon added.
Aside from acting, he and his wife, Megan Ory, have begun a series called House to Home on YouTube, where they renovate different houses. With Reardon pursuing newer ventures following his diagnosis, fans’ speculation about his exit seems to have solidified. However, there is no official confirmation of his exit from Hudson & Rex makers or the actor himself.
