The Neighborhood Season 8: Is It Canceled or Renewed?

Fans are eager to learn whether The Neighborhood will return for Season 8 or if CBS has decided to end the long-running sitcom. With Season 7 currently airing, speculation about the show’s future has been growing. Now, the network has made an official decision regarding its fate.

Here’s what viewers need to know about The Neighborhood’s renewal status and what’s next for the series.

Is The Neighborhood Season 8 renewed or canceled by CBS?

CBS has officially renewed The Neighborhood for an eighth and final season.

The multi-camera comedy will end after its upcoming season, airing during the 2025-2026 broadcast season. Cedric the Entertainer stars in the series, which is currently in its seventh season.

Variety confirmed that The Neighborhood will wrap up its run after eight seasons. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, stated, “The brilliant cast and creative team at The Neighborhood led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer have brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons.”

She also noted that The Neighborhood remains “a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV.” According to CBS, the series is averaging 6.4 million viewers per episode in Live+35 multiplatform viewing.

The Neighborhood cast includes Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears, and Skye Townsend. CBS Studios produces the series, with Bill Martin, Mike Schiff, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Cedric the Entertainer, and Eric Rhone as executive producers.

CBS is developing a spinoff focused on Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney’s characters, though it has not officially greenlit the project. Paramount+ plans to premiere another spinoff, Crutch, starring Tracy Morgan, later this year.

CBS excluded The Neighborhood from its February 2025 renewal list. Sources cite production costs as a key factor in ending the series. Poppa’s House, The Equalizer, and Watson are still awaiting renewal.
