According to TMZ report, Victoria Goodwin was in contact with the inmate and discussed her failing marriage. She allegedly wrote, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.” Investigators say she shared details of her husband’s whereabouts and set aside $11,515 for the hit, with an upfront payment of $2,500.
The plan came to light when prison officials discovered messages on the inmate’s contraband phone, including one asking for an update on whether the attack had taken place. One of the texts read, “He’s asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update? Was it done?”
Victoria Goodwin was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. She has denied planning to kill Aaron Goodwin, telling police she was only “daydreaming or fantasizing” about being without her husband. She also claimed that she didn’t remember sending the messages and insisted the money was for cell phones.
