Robert Pattinson Reveals Why He Can’t Watch Horror Movies

Robert Pattinson has become “too sensitive” around horror films as an adult. The Mickey 17 actor revealed in a new interview that he watched plenty of “dark stuff” when he was younger. However, as an adult, he no longer has the same appetite for the genre.

What did Robert Pattinson say about horror movies?

Robert Pattinson has been candid about his ever-changing relationship with horror movies. The 38-year-old British heartthrob recently appeared for a GQ interview to promote his new movie, Mickey 17. The Twilight actor shared how he has grown “sensitive” around horror movies.

Pattinson stated, “I used to watch a lot of dark stuff when I was younger and think ‘Yeah, this is cool. ’ And now, I’m too sensitive. It’s strange, you’d think it would go the other way round. As you get older, you become less frightened of these. I can’t watch horror movies anymore.”

Pattinson also recalled a recent incident where watching a horror film made him constantly feel like someone was breaking into his house. The actor explained, “I did get very frightened. I had to do a meeting with the director, and he’d done this horror movie, and I watched it, and I kept thinking that someone was breaking into my house.”

His new-found fear made him grab “two kitchen knives,” so that he could “wait” for the person to come in. Pattinson added, “And then I fell asleep with them basically in my neck on the couch. It was probably a squirrel.”

Pattinson also revealed his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse’s confusion at the actor sleeping with two knives. The Twilight alum continued, “My girlfriend came in, and she was like, ‘What is happening? Why do you have two knives in your face and you are sleeping?'”

Pattinson is currently earning great reviews for his performance in Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho’s film, Mickey 17.
