Black Bag Box Office Prediction: How Much Is It Predicted to Make?

With the upcoming spy-thriller Black Bag set to hit theatres later this month, fans have been curious about its box office prediction and whether it will be a hit or flop. Steven Soderbergh’s film revolves around the misadventures of a spy couple, portrayed by Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett. After learning that his wife is under investigation for deceiving the country, Fassbender’s George Woodhouse is forced to choose between vouching for his spouse or defending the nation.

So, here’s how Black Bag’s future at the global box office looks according to the current dynamics.

How much could Black Bag make on its box office opening?

Black Bag is expected to rake in $10 million to $15 million on its domestic opening weekend.

The estimated financial performance of Steven Soderbergh’s forthcoming directorial venture comes from the renowned film industry magazine Boxoffice Pro. Despite having a relatively lukewarm buzz surrounding its release, the movie packs a stellar cast, with Michael Fassbender and the two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett leading the lines. Meanwhile, Pierce Brosnan, Regé-Jean Page, Tom Burke, and Marisa Abela, among others, round off the supporting lineup.

Notably, Soderbergh’s last outing as a director was with 2024’s Presence, which secured an opening weekend collection of $3.3 million. Similarly, his 2023 film Magic Mike’s Last Dance launched to a $8.3 million domestic opening weekend. It eventually completed its domestic run at $26 million.

Will Black Bag bomb or be a success?

At the time of writing, it is unclear if Black Bag will be able to match its box office prediction. As such, it remains to be seen if the 94-minute feature will end up becoming successful.

The audience still seems somewhat less aware of Black Bag, with the film tracking website The Quorom giving it an awareness percentage of 21%. Nevertheless, the action thriller also has 38% interested in watching the film and 48% percent ready to pay for it. Moreover, the official trailer for the film, released in December 2024, has so far amassed over 11 million views. As such, the box office fate of Black Bag seems promising, to say the least.
