The Solo Leveling anime has introduced fans to Sung Jinwoo’s strongest shadows in the manhwa. Episode 6 “Don’t Look Down on My Guys” was one of the episodes to continue this and showed the entry of Tusk, or Kargalgan, into Jinwoo’s army of Shadows. Here are all the details about Tusk (Kargalgan) and how Jinwoo managed to acquire him in the Solo Leveling Season 2.
The role of Tusk and Kargalgan in Solo Leveling explained
Tusk is the shadow form of the dungeon boss Kargalgan. Kargalgan was introduced in Episode 6 “Don’t Look Down on My Guys” in Season 2.
The red-skinned demon is the leader of the High Orcs and one of the most intelligent demons to exist in the anime. He is an S-rank dungeon boss who took pleasure in torturing humans. Being a shaman, Kargalgan possesses mastery in magic and spells like Gravitation Magic, Barrier Magic, Hymn of Agony, Hymn of Protection, and more. Apart from being a shadow that can communicate in human language, Kargalgan can use telepathy and take over anyone’s conscience at his own will. This was shown in the episode when he switched over to one of his soldiers to guide Hunter’s Guild hunter Son Kihoon and his team, including Sung Jinwoo, to his cave.
Here’s how Jinwee turns Kargalgan into Tusk in Solo Leveling
Hunter Sung Jinwoo acquired Kargalgan’s shadow in Episode 6 of the anime and named him Tusk. After coming face-to-face with Kargalgan, Jinwoo decided to not hold back and save the rest of the hunters. He unleashed his Shadow army led by Igris, which attacked Kargalgan’s High Orcs. Jinwoo himself jumped in the fight, whereas Kargalgan continued attacking him and his army with spells, which didn’t have much effect.
Jinwoo then noticed his soldiers disappearing rapidly, leading to Kargalgan thinking that he could win. However, Jinwoo executed a master plan and began extracting the shadows of the dead High Orcs. Witnessing this, Kargalgan grew in size, trying to overthrow Jinwoo, but became an easy target for the Shadow Monarch. Upon his defeat, the Solo Leveling protagonist added Kargalgan as Tusk in his army.
