The world No. 18-ranked player Frances Tiafoe, who attended the game at Arrowhead Stadium with his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield, revealed that he and Taylor Swift shared a suite and spent the day bonding over drinks and casual conversation.
“We go into this suite, and the first person we see in this suite is Taylor,” he said. The tennis pro tried to keep his cool, joking, “I’m like, ‘Try to act like you’ve been here before.’” (via TennisTV)
The two hit it off immediately, spending the day enjoying each other’s company. “We were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. Super down to earth,” Tiafoe shared. “Hopefully, we can do that again,” he added.
Beyond the fun and drinks, Tiafoe was surprised by Swift’s genuine interest in tennis. The singer, who was at the game to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, showed off her knowledge of the sport.
Tiafoe also revealed that Swift even mentioned wanting to watch him play in the U.S. Open. Adding to the camaraderie, the entertainer shared that Kelce is a fan of Tiafoe. “And she was like, ‘Trav loves you,’” Tiafoe recalled with a smile.
While the tennis star admitted he wasn’t a “Swiftie” before their meeting, he now holds the singer in high regard. “It’s crazy because, you know, I’m not even saying I’m a Swiftie, but like, I appreciate greatness so much,” he said. “Seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect.”
