Joy Reid exits MSNBC with her show’s cancellation

After the exit of Rashida Jones, MSNBC appointed former CNN executive, Rebecca Kutler to be the new President. Under the new leadership, the network is experiencing major programming restructuring. As a part of the latest line-up shuffle, Reid’s show is canceled, and rotating anchors will host Reid’s hour.

Kutler announced the show’s cancelation during a “contentious virtual meeting” with The ReidOut’s staff, per the New York Post. Her memo to the staff on Monday further extended her thanks to Reid for all her contributions to the network.

She said, “Joy Reid is leaving the network and we thank her for her countless contributions over the years. Her work has been recognized with several esteemed honors, including most recently, the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News Series.” (via ABC)
