Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t hold back when announcing Colin Farrell as the winner for Male Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series at the 2025 SAG Awards. Before announcing the winner, she joked, “And the actor goes to… the man who gave me COVID at the Golden Globes, Colin Farrell.” The crowd burst into laughter as Farrell walked onstage.

As Farrell took the stage, he responded with a grin, “Guilty as charged. But Brendan Gleeson f—ing gave it to me, so I was just spreading the love.” The exchange set a lighthearted tone as Farrell accepted his award for his role as Oz Cobb in HBO’s The Penguin, a spinoff of The Batman.

During his speech, Farrell reflected on his journey as an actor and expressed gratitude for his sons, James and Henry, as well as his siblings. He also took a moment to acknowledge the unpredictable nature of acting. Farrell said, “It’s just unquantifiable; it’s playtime. You don’t get to fully grow up, you get to kind of keep the dream of a child alive as you try and figure out what it is to be human. It’s so much fun.”

Farrell won over fellow nominees Kevin Kline, Javier Bardem, Andrew Scott, and Richard Gadd. His award marked a major win for The Penguin, a series that had generated significant buzz ahead of its release in September 2024.
