Monica Lewinsky wants Taylor Swift as her guest
Monica Lewinsky has expressed interest in having Taylor Swift as a guest on her new podcast, Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Lewinsky was asked about her dream guest and she quickly named Swift. Lewinsky explained that the singer’s decision to re-record her albums after losing the rights to her original music aligns with the podcast’s theme of reclaiming one’s own narrative.
Lewinsky said, “I think if I aim really high I would say Taylor Swift. Particularly for the podcast because if you think about Taylor’s Versions it’s really a reclamation. To lose your music catalog and to figure out a way to get that back as your voice.” Whether Swift will accept the invitation remains to be seen.
In addition to discussing her dream guest, Lewinsky reflected on the changes she has experienced over the years. The former White House intern, who became a public figure following the high-profile scandal that she was involved in with Bill Clinton in the late ’90s, has since become an advocate against cyberbullying. She told Colbert that the #MeToo movement gave her hope, as it showed women supporting each other through difficult experiences.
Lewinsky’s new podcast has already featured notable guests like Olivia Munn and Alan Cumming, with more names expected in the future. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Lewinsky opened up about how Reclaiming was inspired by her own journey. She also acknowledged feeling nervous about being more open on the podcast. However, Lewinsky emphasized that the show is meant to explore both her experiences and those of her guests.
