LaVar Ball Undergoes Foot Amputation After Medical Issues — Report

Big Baller Brand co-founder LaVar Ball reportedly had his right foot amputated. While he remains in good spirits, the news has sparked questions about his health condition and recovery.

Let’s take a closer look at what happened, the latest reports, and how the Ball family has responded to this unexpected development.

LaVar Ball’s health update explained

LaVar Ball, the father of NBA players Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball, had his right foot amputated due to a “serious medical issue,” as reported by TMZ Sports.

The Big Baller Brand co-founder recently had the procedure and remains in good spirits. Officials have not disclosed any further details about the medical condition that led to the amputation.

Since 2017, when the Los Angeles Lakers drafted his eldest son, Lonzo, second overall, LaVar Ball has remained a prominent public figure. In 2020, the Charlotte Hornets selected his younger son, LaMelo, with the third overall pick. The Ball brothers have consistently drawn media attention, largely due to LaVar’s outspoken personality.

Currently playing for the Chicago Bulls, Lonzo Ball recently returned to the court after missing over 1,000 days with a knee injury. In February, he signed a two-year, $20 million contract extension with the team. LaMelo Ball, who earned an NBA All-Star selection in 2022, is averaging 27.3 points per game this season while managing an ankle injury (via Fox Sports).

LiAngelo Ball, the middle brother, played in the G League but has not appeared in an NBA game. Most recently, he played for Mexican team Astros de Jalisco before shifting focus to his rap career. He performed his new track “Tweaker” at the NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco.

LaVar Ball founded Big Baller Brand in 2016, a company that developed signature shoes for his sons. The brand’s website was briefly shut down in 2019 but later reopened. In 2017, he also established the Junior Basketball Association, where LaMelo and LiAngelo played.

The Ball family has not publicly commented on LaVar’s recent surgery.
