Max George gives health update
Max George recently underwent a second heart surgery.
The Wanted singer shared this information via Instagram. Here, he mentioned that he was admitted to the hospital several weeks ago after experiencing symptoms in his chest. The doctors eventually discovered that one of the leads of the pacemaker had been fitted too far into his heart.
George’s second surgery, however, took only two hours and was successful.
“It’s been a setback, but it’s just one of those things,” he added. “I’ve had a few complications the last couple of months but I’m having loads of tests to make sure everything is all good.”
The 36-year-old musician then stated that the inflammation in his heart would take a few weeks to slowly go down. However, he expressed his hope that he would eventually fully recover. George then thanked fans for their support.
George had previously elaborated on his second heart surgery two days ago in an interview with The Sun. Here, he spoke of a “flickering sensation” he experienced after being fitted with a pacemaker and how it got progressively worse. “When my heart rate went up, it was causing a shock in my heart which was making me jump all the time,” he added. “My chest was shaking.”
In an interview with the outlet last month, George recalled that he was at his mother Babs’ house when he started experiencing his heart problems. Here, he mentioned feeling cold, and his arms and hands being gray and blue-colored, which he viewed as the first warning signs that something was not right with him. Moreover, he also expressed how he thought he would pass away and drafted a will on his iPhone, in case it happened.
Furthermore, he credited his mother for saving his life by ensuring emergency treatment.
