Has Cobra Kai Officially Ended or Could a Spin-off Happen?

With the recent conclusion of Cobra Kai Season 6, Fans are wondering whether the action-packed martial arts drama has officially ended. They are also wondering if a spin-off to the series is in the works. The six-year-spanning series expanded upon the story established in The Karate Kid films. It followed Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence’s stories as senseis of their respective dojos, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai. The series also focused on the mentorship of several youngsters like Sam, Miguel, Robby, Tory, and Hawk.

Here is all you need to know about Cobra Kai’s future and whether it has ended.

Has Cobra Kai ended for good?

Yes, Cobra Kai is over after Season 6, which was the series’ final season.

The sixth season wrapped up lingering storylines and resolved multiple character arcs, particularly that of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. The finale saw a resolution to their longstanding rivalry, by showing the two form a partnership of sorts. This partnership saw Daniel and Johnny exchange their respective students between their respective dojos, and train them in both offensive and defensive martial arts.

Could there be a Cobra Kai spin-off on Netflix?

A Cobra Kai spin-off has not been officially greenlit. However, The Karate Kid universe is far from over. Fans will see Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso return in Karate Kid: Legends, set to release this summer. Daniel will also be joined by Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han, who reprises his role from the 2010’s The Karate Kid. The two will have supporting roles as teachers of the main protagonist, Li Fong.

Although an official spin-off has not been greenlit yet, series creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, and Hayden Schlossberg have revealed ideas for some. They revealed them in an Entertainment Weekly interview.

One of the spin-off ideas named “Binary Brothers” would focus on Hawk and Demetri’s life at Cal Tech. The series finale had teased this future path for the two characters.

All six seasons of Cobra Kai are now streaming on Netflix.
