Here’s fans reaction to Ryan Reynolds’ Justin Baldoni drama joke

SNL veterans Tina Fey and Amy Poehler asked Reynolds, who was sitting in the audience, how he was doing. Replying, the Free Guy star stated, “Great—why, what have you heard?” While many in the crowd issued a chuckle at the actor’s joke, Blake Lively was seen staring at her husband, seemingly in shock.

Many on the internet have criticized Ryan Reynolds for joking about his serious situation with Justin Baldoni. One fan highlighted on X (formerly Twitter) how SNL was trying to bail out the celebrity couple, stating, “How sweet of SNL to try and do damage control for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively—but it won’t work.”

Another user called out Reynolds for misusing his affluent status. “This is what you call Billionaire Audacity. Ryan Reynolds is in for an enormous fall from the faux grace he has conjured for himself,” the post read.

Meanwhile, one fan pointed out the irony of Ryan Reynolds’ joke about Justin Baldoni by showcasing the similarities between his dig and the duo’s case. They wrote, “They went on #SNL50thAnniversary just to make fun of bullying Justin Baldoni right before they go to trial for bullying Justin Baldoni. Are they crazy?”

Notably, Baldoni has filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, as well as the Gossip Girl alum’s publicist, Leslie Sloane. This development occurred after Lively sued her It Ends With Us co-star for sexual harassment in December 2024, amidst other accusations. The case has now proceeded to court and will start trial in March 2026.
