Celebrity couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were among the known faces who graced the red carpet in New York City on the occasion of Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special. This marks the duo’s first public appearance with one another after their legal tussle with Lively’s It Ends With Us star and director Justin Baldoni kickstarted in December 2024.
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the Green Lantern stars’ outing at the event.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively spotted during SNL
Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively joined the SNL 50th anniversary special red carpet recently amid their legal tussle with Justin Baldoni. Blake Lively donned a gleaming silver gown for the night, while Ryan Reynolds sported a classic black tuxedo with a matching bow tie. The two smiled and posed for the cameras while navigating their way on the carpet.
They even had a brief cameo on the show. In a Q&A SNL sketch orchestrated by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the actresses questioned Ryan Reynolds, who was sitting in the audience, about how he was doing. To which, Reynolds, seemingly subtly joking about his off-screen troubles, responded, “Great. Why? What have you heard?” (via CNN)
Notably, Lively and Reynolds’ ordeal with Justin Baldoni dates back to December 2024, when the Gossip Girl alum launched a sexual harassment lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star. Additionally, Lively also accused Baldoni’s PR team of putting together a social manipulation campaign to blemish her reputation. In reply, Baldoni denied all wrongdoings and went on a counterattack by filing a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane.
The case will now be settled in court. The officials have already set a date for trial that is set to commence in March 2026.
