The Ghostbusters star went public with her relationship in 2020 via a first-person essay she wrote for Vulture. In the self-composed piece, Strong revealed that she met Jack one month before she lost her younger cousin Owen to brain cancer. She beautifully connected the two events in her essay, stating, “I think you (Jack) were a gift to me from Owen. And I like thinking of it that way.”
During her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in March 2024, Cecily Strong confirmed that her fiancé proposed to her in December 2023. While talking about her engagement, she also divulged how she got to know about Jack’s intention to ask her hand for marriage through an accidental text.
