Sabrina Carpenter Credits Taylor Swift for Her Short n’ Sweet Tour

Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter are two names that have been making waves in the music industry. In a recent interview, the “Espresso” singer revealed how the “Enchanted” singer played a significant role in shaping her Short n’ Sweet Tour. Having opened for Swift on several dates of the Eras Tour, Carpenter took notes from the global superstar’s approach to live performances. Carpenter kickstarted her Short n’ Sweet tour in September last year, performing in various locations across the United States.

Sabrina Carpenter reveals Taylor Swift inspired her tour

Sabrina Carpenter said that Taylor Swift’s shows made hers seem small in comparison and that Swift had inspired a pathway for her to do her Short n’ Sweet tour.

“Her stadiums make my shows look like clubs,” Carpenter told Vogue. She praised Taylor Swift’s ability to create an immersive experience, making it seem like she was performing right in the audience’s “living room.” Carpenter expressed her gratitude, telling Swift directly, “Your tour enabled me to do mine.”

Next month, Carpenter will begin the international leg, which is set to conclude in April at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The “Feather” singer seems to have set herself apart from Swift when it comes to her Short n Sweet tour. While Swift has mostly been family-friendly with her performances, Carpenter has frequently incorporated gestures and acts that were more adult-oriented. These include wearing revealing outfits, drinking alcohol, and simulating inappropriate scenes all on stage. These choices have sparked an online backlash, with critics accusing her of being inappropriate for her audience.

In response, Sabrina Carpenter addressed the controversy in a Time Magazine interview. She simply said that her detractors did not need to “come to the show and that’s OK.” Here, she also called the criticism of her dressing etiquette “unfortunate.”
