The second season of Funny Woman already received an ample amount of love and appreciation from viewers in the United Kingdom as it debuted on Sky Showcase, Sky Max, and Now on September 6, 2024. Moreover, Funny Woman Season 1, which premiered in February 2023, achieved satisfactory scores from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here’s what Funny Woman Season 2 series is about

Funny Woman is based on a novel of the same name authored by Nick Hornby. The story of this series revolves around Gemma Arterton’s character, Barbara Parker, who goes by the stage name, Sophie Straw. Hailing from Blackpool, she tries to make it big as a television star in a male-dominated industry in the ’60s.

While the first season told the tale of struggling days, the second season will dive deeper into Parker’s life as the biggest comedy TV star in the UK. The sophomore iteration also focuses more on her romance with Asher Ali’s character Dennis Mahindra, as well as a major setback in her career in the entertainment industry. Funny Woman Season 2 spans a total of four episodes, a continuation of the six episodes that were a part of Season 1.
