Dog Man: Does It Have a Post Credits Scene at the End?

Dog Man debuted in U.S. theaters on January 31, 2025. It’s an animated superhero comedy movie that revolves around Dog Man, a police officer with the head of a dog and the body of a human. The plot follows the titular character as he tries to thwart the evil plans of Petey (Pete Davidson), the Orange Cat. The movie is a fun adventure that explores themes such as friendship, heroism, and redemption. As it is a superhero feature, people want to know whether Dog Man has an end, mid, or post-credits scene.

Does Dog Man have an end, mid or post-credits scene?

No, Dog Man doesn’t have an end, mid, or post-credits scene.

Generally, in franchise filmmaking, these scenes are often used to set up future projects or give the viewers a small and entertaining after-climax moment. Written and directed by Peter Hastings, who also voices the eponymous character, Dog Man is an adaptation of the namesake graphic novel series by writer and illustrator Dav Pilkey. The series has multiple entries that can be potentially explored in Dog Man sequels. However, the movie doesn’t actively set up future plot threads through a post-credits scene.

In the movie, Dog Man and Petey reluctantly team up to take down Flippy the Fish (Ricky Gervais). A battle ensues with Dog Man and Petey collaborating to make a mailman kaiju to stand against Mecha Petey. Eventually, after Li’l Petey (Lucas Hopkins) encourages him, Flippy experiences a change of heart and becomes remorseful of his actions. The movie ends with Dog Man, Petey, Li’l Petey, and others celebrating that they have saved the city.

Reflecting on the movie’s ending, Hastings told NBC Insider that it is supposed to convey to the audience that despite the struggles, things would turn out fine. “It’s so rich,” he said. “I just had this desire that somebody sitting in a theater with their kid would watch that and then just look and smile, thinking, ‘It is going to be okay.’ That sentiment at the end, I love, because things can be difficult and things can be hard. But it’s going to be okay. I always pitched that moment and the thing I love about that is that it works on a good day and a bad day,” Hastings added.
