After 12 days of complete radio silence, the 28-year-old celebrity finally shared her account of her separation from James during her January 28 appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. Rachael Kirkconnell revealed that she was boarding a flight when she learned of James’ post about their breakup.
“Literally the plane is taking off and I see his post, and that’s it. I don’t have any service or anything for the next 12 hours,” she stated. “So I’m freaking out because, you know, just got broken up with, and now, a few hours later, it’s for the whole world to see and I’m still trying to process it.”
Rachael Kirkconnell also confessed that she has yet to process her breakup with James. “I’m still in total shock. I think that’s why I didn’t say anything,” the reality TV star noted. “Still haven’t made a statement or anything because I’m processing this just like everyone else is.”
On January 16, Matt James shared a post on Instagram and announced his breakup with Rachael Kirkconnell to the world. The update shocked everyone, especially as James publicly shared his intentions to start a family with Kirkconnell in November 2024. During her conversation with Cooper, Kirkconnell reiterated the same, admitting, “We talked about rings, he told me a few months ago to start saving some things, picking things out.”
Nevertheless, Kirkconnell highlighted some reasons that could’ve led James to initiate a breakup. “There were just qualities about me that he worries about having in a wife. Like at the end of the day, there are things that we aren’t compatible with,” she explained.
