Billy Ray Cyrus responds to family’s concern
Billy Ray Cyrus has recently addressed the concerns raised by his family, particularly his son Trace, following his performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Trace had publicly expressed his worry, citing that he and his siblings were genuinely concerned for Billy Ray’s well-being, especially after his performance at the Liberty Ball.
He put out a YouTube Shorts post asking for prayers for his family, including his children, and expressed a desire to move forward. He shared, “Praying for my family. For my children … sons and daughters…and their mother.”
Billy Ray added, “Let this moment be the start of healing for us all. ‘The past does not equal the future.’ Amen.” His post featured a clip from his 2008 music video for “Somebody Said a Prayer,” which also included a cameo from Trace.
The family’s concerns had been building after Billy Ray’s appearance at the Liberty Ball, where his performance was widely criticized, with many feeling he appeared disoriented and struggled to perform.
Trace, who had been vocal about his concerns, mentioned in an Instagram post that he and his siblings were worried about their father and speculated that he may be struggling with personal issues.
Billy Ray did not directly respond to his son’s public plea for help. However, Trace later accused his father of threatening legal action against him for publicly voicing his concerns. In an Instagram post, Trace said, “Dad my message was beyond loving. I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that.” He further stated, “But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace.”
