Are you curious about Dave Franco’s thoughts on being compared to Luigi Mangione? Luigi Mangione is the prime suspect in the murder case of United HeathCare CEO Brian Thompson. Recently, Franco himself shared his reaction to this comparison in a joint interview he gave with his wife and fellow actress, Alison Brie.
Here’s what Franco said.

Dave Franco recently addressed fans’ casting calls and the comparisons to Luigi Mangione.
He addressed them in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter alongside his wife Alison Brie, where they were promoting Together, a new horror film starring both of them. This was after the interviewer asked them if anybody had talked to him about comparisons between him and Luigi Mangione. Brie playfully jumped in, saying, “Anyone? Do you mean everyone?.”
“I have never received more texts in my life about anything. Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it,” Franco added. Both Brie and Franco then noted that there had not been any “official offers” for the role.
The Rental director’s resemblance to Mangione did not stick to social media discussions alone. Saturday Night Live even jumped on the bandwagon by making a joke about it. They made this joke through their Crime Stories with Nancy Grace Cold Open segment, where Grace said Mangione looked like “Dave Franco with Eugene Levy eyebrows.”
Although an official movie or television show adaptation chronicling Luigi Mangione’s life has not yet been announced, multiple documentaries about the same are in the works.
The first documentary is helmed by Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Prods and Anonymous Content. The second documentary comes from Amanda Knox and How to Rob a Bank creator, Stephen Robert Morse. (via Variety)
Meanwhile, ABC aired a documentary, Manhunt: Luigi Mangione and the CEO Murder last month. It was also made available for streaming on Hulu.
