Kid Rock is making headlines after he audaciously asked a BBC journalist out during his recent interview.. Kid Rock, or Robert James Ritchie, as is his original name, was attending the show to share his two cents on Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day. However, the interaction soon took a turn for the worse when Ritchie decided to use the opportunity to flirt with his interviewer.
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the much-discussed exchange between Kid Rock and Caitríona Perry, the BBC journalist in question.
Kid Rock flirts with BBC journalist Caitríona Perry
The interview started uneventfully as Perry inquired about Kid Rock’s plans for Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day. The singer replied that he planned on having “a good time” and was excited to “celebrate the rebirth of America today.”
Kid Rock then attempted to take over the line of questioning and asked the BBC journalist about her whereabouts. After a brief back-and-forth of words, where Ritchie complained of not being able to see Perry, the broadcaster’s chief Washington-based anchor responded, “Well, I look like I’m ready to hit the slopes. I can tell you I’m in full-on ski gear with my hat, gloves, the whole thing, ready to rock because you’ve got to be wrapped up against the elements, don’t ya?”
What came next ended up derailing the interview altogether. After learning of Perry’s plans, Kid Rock issued an inappropriate response to the BBC journalist, noting, “I love to go skiing. You sound sexy, you want to go with me?” As such, Perry had to abruptly conclude their conversation by stating, “Well, we won’t get into that right here, so. We’re doing no skiing today, we’ve got a day of broadcasting to do. But Kid Rock, thank you so much for joining us here on BBC News, enjoy your day.”
Kid Rock, an avid Donald Trump supporter, was present in the politician’s Make American Great Again Victory Rally that took place on Sunday. He also performed at the event alongside other popular musicians, such as Village People, Lee Greenwood, and Billy Ray.
