Here’s Why Ben Affleck Moved to Ex-Wife Jennifer Garner’s Home

Ben Affleck moved to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner‘s home amid the Palisades fire plaguing Southern California. Affleck joined the ever-growing list of celebrities forced to evacuate from their homes, like Mark Hamill and Mandy Moore. The Palisades fire is one of the four fires plaguing Los Angeles since January 7. The other fires plaguing the metropolitan area are the Eaton, Hurst, and Sunset fires.

Ben Affleck flees to Jennifer Garner’s home amid Palisades fire

On Tuesday, January 8, 2025, Ben Affleck, after being evacuated from his $20.5 million mansion, rushed to the home of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. The actor was driving to his home when he saw the Palisades fire advancing near his house. He had likely attended an event, as he was clad in formal attire.

Affleck’s residence was only a short distance away from Garner’s. It’s unclear if Affleck went there to rescue Garner and their children or stayed there because he was evacuated from his house.

However, Affleck’s $20.5 million mansion appears to have survived the onslaught of the Palisades fires. The actor returned to the residence the following morning. However, the area surrounding his home had been marked as an evacuation area.

Unfortunately, other actors like James Woods and Billy Crystal weren’t so lucky as they lost their homes to the fires. Woods broke down when confirming the loss of his home in a CNN interview. “One day you’re swimming in a pool…and the next day it’s all gone,” he said.

The Gone Girl star had purchased his $20.5 million mansion in July 2024. This mansion has been popularly called a “bachelor pad.”

Meanwhile, Affleck’s other ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, saw the movie premiere of her latest film, Unstoppable, get canceled. Affleck served as a producer on the project.

The Pacific Palisades, where Affleck’s mansion is situated, is reportedly the residential area for his fellow Hollywood actors Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, and Michael Keaton.
