Allison Holker faces backlash from husband Stephen’s family for her memoir
Allison Holker, widow of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, faces backlash from family and friends over her memoir, This Far, releasing February 4.
The backlash began after Holker told People she found hidden drugs, including mushrooms and pills, in shoeboxes after Boss’s death. Family friend Courtney Ann Platt publicly criticized the memoir on Instagram, calling it a “smear campaign” against Boss.
She stated, “This smear campaign for a buck is absolutely not what he would have ever wanted.” Platt also claimed that Holker made attendees at Boss’s funeral, including his mother, sign NDAs to prevent them from discussing his private matters. Platt further criticized Holker for allegedly publishing Boss’s private journals.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s brother, Dré Rose, reposted Platt’s statement on his Instagram Stories, adding the caption, “No lies told.” Rose, along with several of Boss’s friends, shared similar posts objecting to the memoir and its claims. They argued that Holker’s decision to reveal sensitive details about Boss’s struggles is disrespectful to his memory and contrary to what he would have wanted.
Holker has not addressed the backlash directly, but her representative declined to comment when contacted by media outlets. In her People interview, she said the memoir aims to support others facing similar struggles. “I really hope people dealing with the same thing will help themselves out of the shadows and [know] you’re going to be okay.”
The dispute remains ongoing as Holker promotes her memoir while Boss’s family and friends continue to voice disapproval.
