Nicki Minaj being sued by her former manager Brandon Garrett
Nicki Minaj is reportedly being sued by her former manager, Brandon Garrett, over claims of assault, battery, and emotional distress. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the alleged incident took place in April 2024, backstage at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena during her Pink Friday 2 tour.
Garrett claims the confrontation began when Minaj discovered he had asked another employee to pick up her prescriptions. The lawsuit alleges Minaj berated him, stating, “Are you fu*king crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your fu*king mind and if my husband were here, he would knock out your fu*king teeth.” The rapper allegedly added, “You’re a dead man walking,” before slapping him across the face and striking his wrist. This caused his hat to fall and documents to scatter.
Following the altercation, Garrett says he was barred from the tour bus and left stranded in Detroit. He reportedly hid in a bathroom for hours, fearing further retaliation. Garrett is seeking unspecified damages for the incident, which he claims caused both physical pain and emotional trauma.
Minaj’s legal team has strongly denied the allegations. Her lawyer, Judd Burstein, stated, “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations. However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
