Is Dex dead or alive on General Hospital?

Dex passed away due to a cardiac arrest in General Hospital.

As fans are aware, Dex was a rookie officer who was investigating the murder of Sam McCall. Sam decided to sacrifice her life to save Lulu Spencer by donating her liver. While she was expected to recover, things went out of control when Sam passed away after being unconscious. It is further revealed that the reason behind Sam’s death was the consumption of a drug named Digitalis, which wasn’t even part of her prescription.

In the recent episodes, Officer Dex resumed his investigation at Rice Plaza. Viewers also witness a mysterious person, possibly the killer with a syringe and bottle of Digitalis that took Sam’s life.

Dex started looking for evidence in the dustbin and that’s when he got stabbed. He was soon rushed to the hospital, but he eventually passed away. The episode aired on December 13, 2024, witnessed Dex taking his last breath in the presence of his friend Anna Devane and girlfriend Josslyn.

As his character came to an end, actor Evan Hofer expressed his gratitude towards the series and the makers. He told Entertainment Weekly, ”So my last few weeks were really just trying to soak in how much I loved playing Dex, and how much I loved all the people over at GH.” The actor further added, “I had such a wonderful time there over the last two-and-a-half years, and I was just trying to make sure that I do justice to the character in those final episodes.”

General Hospital is available to watch on ABC.
