- Crash Reporter: A permissions issue allowing apps to potentially access sensitive user data was fixed with additional restrictions.
- FontParser: An issue where the processing of a maliciously crafted font caused process memory disclosure has been fixed with improved checks.
- ImageIO: The issue of maliciously crafted images causing process memory disclosure has been fixed with improved checks.
- Three Kernel Updates fixed issues allowing apps to leak sensitive kernel state, cause unexpected system termination, and corrupt kernel memory. Moreover, it also fixed an issue that allowed attackers to create read-only memory mapping that could be written to. These issues were fixed via additional validation, improved locking, and improved memory handling.
- Three lib updates — two libxpc and one libexpat, fixed issues allowing remote attackers to cause unexpected app termination and arbitrary code execution. Moreover, it also fixed an issue allowing apps to break out of their sandbox, and gain elevated privileges. These issues were fixed with improved memory checks.
- Four webkit fixes that fixed the issue of processing maliciously crafted web content causing problems like unexpected process crashes and memory corruption. These issues were fixed with improved checks and memory handling.
Moreover, The iOS 18.2 update has also addressed and fixed glaring issues related to Passwords, Safari, SceneKit, and VoiceOver.
Furthermore, Apple has also fixed a vulnerability with the TCC (Transparency, Consent, and Control) subsystem that allowed sensitive data to be accessed by another application if exploited by attackers.
